Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, or COPD, is a progressive respiratory illness that causes airflow obstruction, affecting the bronchioles, bronchi, blood vessels, and alveoli.

Chronic bronchitis involves persistent coughing and mucus secretion due to inflammation of the bronchial tubes and airways. Both conditions lead to progressive lung deterioration and airflow obstruction.
