Recent work has cemented the idea that the nervous system plays an active and important role in the initiation, proliferation, metastatic spread, and therapeutic resistance of diverse cancers. A major hurdle to future discoveries in this domain is the limited interaction among cancer biologists, neuroscientists, and clinicians. This prevents targeted methods from being developed and promotes the ‘re-purposing’ of existing approaches to answer questions in cancer neuroscience. The proposed collection will address this by focusing on new and emerging techniques at the nexus of neuroscience and cancer research, with the ultimate goal of serving as a resource for new and established investigators to make discoveries in this exciting field.
