The detection of trace substances in complex matrices has always been the focus of research in the field of analytical chemistry. With rapid improvements in the sensitivity of analytical instruments, relevant research has entered a period of accelerated development, but a sharp improvement in sensitivity also leads to the reduction of the resolution, which, in turn, increases the requirement for the pretreatment and purification of samples. Since the invention of QuEChERS in 2003, it has been widely welcomed by analytical chemists because of its simple operation and universality of application. With the introduction of various porous carbon materials, its performance has been greatly improved and its use threshold has been reduced, which has enabled it to gradually enter the national standardized methods.
This collection aims to share standardized protocols for QuEChERS application; promote broader global access to existing methods; open network production for research collaborations anew. We trust this approach will encourage a myriad of scientists to take part in this global effort in a trans-disciplinary manner, towards renewed progress in the detection of trace substances in complex matrices.
