Collection Overview

This Methods Collection aims to show variations on the technique for robotic and roboscopic (laparoscopic dissection plus robotic reconstruction) pancreatoduodenectomy for pancreatic cancer, specifically focusing on the following key steps of the procedure: robotic and laparoscopic instruments; sutures; setup, trocar type, size, and position; ideal workflow of the procedure; definition of lymph node stations to be removed during pancreatoduodenectomy for pancreatic cancer located in the pancreatic head and uncinated process; dissection of hepatoduodenal ligament/common hepatic artery including management of the gastroduodenal artery; retroperitoneal dissection (uncinate margin dissection); mobilization of the first jejunal loop (possibly including resection of associated mesentery); Blumgart pancreatojejunostomy; hepaticojejunostomy; duodenojejunostomy or gastrojejunostomy; and surgical drains.

Considering that there will be clear variations in seemingly standardized techniques at each step, articles in this collection should be “read in parallel” to highlight these differences.
