Collection Overview

Esophageal diseases are widespread. Both benign esophageal disorders such as gastroesophageal reflux disease and achalasia are common topics in the surgical field. Esophageal cancer represents the eighth worldwide cause of death and the eighth cause of new cases, and adenocarcinoma is still rising. Many studies have proven that the minimally invasive approach has been established as a safe method, and many studies have proven faster post-surgical outcome recovery. Multiple video procedures have been disseminated, representing the democratization of knowledge and expertise. So, this collection outlines the most frequent types of esophageal surgery, also discussing tips and pitfalls during the procedures. These articles’ videos might help surgeons learn and revise surgical maneuvers that could interfere with the results.
