Collection Overview

Tendon is an essential tissue connecting bone and muscle to promote joint movement. Tendon injuries are the most common soft tissue injuries in orthopedic surgery annually, leading to functional disability, medical depletion, and decreased social productivity, making them one of the most common clinical problems. Tendon injuries mainly require surgical intervention, depending on their severity. Tendon reconstruction and repair surgeries are required when the tendon injury is mild to moderate with a small gap and the injured tendon is designed to restore a partially or entirely torn tendon. At the same time, a tendon graft or transfer surgery is performed on a diseased or lacerated muscle or a significant gap rupture. Postoperative tendon adhesion is the most critical complication of tendon surgery and causes a significant disability. As a result, tenolysis surgery is usually required. In accordance with ongoing research and advanced surgical techniques for tendon injury and adhesion, we established this Methods Collection to improve these techniques and decrease postoperative complications.
