I completed my bachelor’s degree in Pure Chemistry and my Master's degree in Analytical Chemistry in Iran. Then, I moved to Turkey, where I obtained my Ph.D. in Molecular Biology. Throughout these years I have gained valuable experience in conducting bench and instrumental protein characterization tests. Currently, I am a postdoctoral researcher in Dr. Margarete Fischer-Bosch Institute of Clinical Pharmacology and my research is focused on developing methods for HR-MS based proteomics to quantify proteins in different biological matrices. I thoroughly enjoy the process of developing new techniques and approaches to overcome challenges in protein analysis.

Collection Overview

High-resolution mass spectrometry empowers researchers to identify and quantify thousands of proteins in complex biological samples with unprecedented precision. This technology excels in resolving isobaric compounds and pinpointing post-translational modifications, offering a crucial tool for identifying potential biomarkers in various diseases and conditions. The accurate detection of low-abundance proteins, often of great clinical relevance, is now attainable due to the sensitivity and resolution provided by these instruments.

The success of high-resolution mass spectrometry-based proteomics hinges not only on the capabilities of the instruments but also on the rigorous methodology applied. From sample preparation techniques that minimize contamination and preserve the integrity of proteins to the selection of appropriate acquisition methods, such as data-dependent acquisition (DDA), data-independent acquisition (DIA), and data processing, each step plays a pivotal role in unlocking the potential of biomarker discovery and low-abundance protein detection.

Through the JoVE platform, we aim to consolidate this wealth of knowledge and expertise in a dedicated Methods Collection for researchers to present their methodologies in a video format. These videos would provide a valuable resource for the proteomics community, and will also offer an in-depth, practical view of experimental procedures, minimizing the often-time-consuming trial-and-error process, particularly for newcomers in the field.
