Chen Zuobing, M.D., graduated from Zhejiang University in 2006 and became the Chief Physician of the Rehabilitation Department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine in 2012. He currently holds several leadership roles, including Vice President of the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University, Chairman of the Rehabilitation Committee of the Chinese Association of Rehabilitation Medicine, Vice Chairman of Zhejiang Disabled Persons' Federation, Director of the Rehabilitation Research Center of Zhejiang University School of Medicine, Distinguished Researcher of the National High-end Think Tank of Zhejiang University, Doctoral Supervisor, and Member of the First Academic Committee of Zhijiang Science and Technology Think Tank. Dr. Chen has extensive experience in research. He has over 30 publications in journals, 8 monographs, and 6 patents. As Chief Physician of the Rehabilitation Department, he is interests in the rehabilitation of various clinical diseases, such as nervous system diseases (e.g. cerebrovascular accident, craniocerebral injury), bone and joint injuries (e.g. fracture, hand trauma, cervical spondylosis), and early recovery from multi-organ systemic diseases. 

Liang Hu

Dr. Liang Hu received his doctoral degree in kinesiology from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign in 2008. He currently holds the positions of Associate Dean of the College of Education, Head of the Department of Sports Science, and Professor in the Zhejiang University College of Education. His research is focused in the areas of health psychology and exercise. Dr. Hu is particularly interested in learning the mechanism underlying the impact of exercise on one's physical and mental health. His study focuses on understanding how social, psychological, and cognitive aspects influence exercise habit and how to promote exercise to enhance fitness and wellness among different populations. Dr. Hu has received over 10 major grants through external funding and has published in over 60 peer-reviewed journals. He is presently an associate editor at the Asian Journal of Sport and Exercise Psychology (AJSEP) and a board member of various academic bodies, including the China Sport Science Society.  

Yang Zhang

Yang Zhang

Affiliated Hospital of Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine

Yang Zhang serves as the chief physician of the Department of Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy at the Affiliated Hospital of Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Her areas of expertise include the rehabilitation of disorders affecting the bones and joints, sports injuries, spinal cord injuries, cerebral palsy in children, lumbar and leg discomfort, stroke, and other conditions. In terms of basic research, she has conducted extensive investigations on the role of mechanosensitive ion channels in the pathogenesis of radicular neuralgia, and further researched the efficacy and mechanism of stem cell, physical factor therapy on pain. In terms of clinical research, she has explored the development of intelligent rehabilitation treatment methods and equipment through medical-industrial crossover.

Collection Overview

Sarcopenia is a serious health concern, particularly in the elderly population, as it is characterized by a loss of skeletal muscle mass and strength. This collection will explore both clinical and experimental research on sarcopenia to highlight advances in diagnosis, treatment, and management. Topics will include molecular mechanisms, clinical trials, therapeutic strategies, and the development of new diagnostic tools. The goal is to promote a thorough knowledge of sarcopenia and how it affects patient treatment.
