As the global population increasingly skews towards older demographics, the prevalence of conditions such as cardiovascular diseases, neurodegenerative disorders, metabolic syndromes, and tissue fibrosis rises significantly. Tissue aging is a highly complex process influenced by a myriad of genetic, epigenetic, and environmental factors that collectively drive the decline in tissue function over time. Understanding the mechanisms behind the structural and functional decline of aging tissue enables researchers to identify potential targets for interventions that can slow, halt, or even reverse these processes. Rejuvenation approaches, such as partial reprogramming, offer promising avenues to restore tissue function and promote healthy living. Detailed knowledge of these approaches helps identify specific markers and pathways that can be targeted to rejuvenate cells in a controlled manner. Additionally, understanding these mechanisms can lead to the discovery of new biomarkers for aging and therapeutic targets, paving the way for personalized medicine approaches in age-related disease management. In this collection, we will mainly focus on multimodal approaches integrating multiple types of data and methodologies to gain a comprehensive understanding of tissue aging and rejuvenation processes. Examples of these approaches include but are not limited to Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS), Transcriptomics, DNA Methylation Analysis, Histone Modification Mapping, ATAC-Sequencing, Mass Spectrometry, Protein Interaction Networks, Metabolomics, Imaging Techniques, Functional Assays, Integrative Network Analysis, Machine Learning, Longitudinal Studies, Cross-Species Analysis, and Model Organisms.
