She has supervised over 70 graduate students and contributed to numerous research projects funded by various organizations, aiming to enhance health and productivity through microbial genomics. With a portfolio of over 100 research papers, she has also served as an editor for multiple scientific publications. In recognition of her achievements, Dr. Ghazanfar was honored with the Young Biotechnology Award in 2021 by the Society for Uplifting of Rural Areas in India. She remains a prominent figure in microbiology, actively working on projects to improve agricultural practices and livestock productivity in Pakistan

Collection Overview

In recent years, microbiome studies have significantly advanced our knowledge of how human health is influenced by trillions of microbes residing in the body. This discovery has led to innovations in ‘Biotics’ (probiotics, prebiotics, postbiotics, and para probiotics). As research progresses, a new field, Biotics, emerges. The Biotics market is growing rapidly due to increased awareness of gut health benefits. Probiotics, prebiotics, and synbiotics are all considered Biotics, influencing health through dietary means.

This collection aims to enhance understanding of how Biotics and Gut-Microbiota impact various metabolic pathways and can potentially revolutionize disease treatments. It also focuses on the beneficial roles and safe applications of these viable and non-viable microorganisms. Their stability, extended shelf life, and effectiveness in gut healing, without the complications associated with live bacteria, make them appealing for consumers and businesses. The aim of proposing this collection is to bridge basic science and clinical practice, providing translational insights into how manipulating gut microbiota with Biotic interventions can be applied in clinical settings for managing human diseases? It offers a comprehensive analysis of gut microbiota and Biotics' health benefits, including recent data, key concepts, and practical implications.

The primary audience for methods collection includes health professionals, clinician-scientists, and translational researchers involved in gut microbiome research or clinical studies targeting gut microbiome manipulation. Specializations such as gastroenterology, oncology, microbiology, food technology, and related fields will find detailed exploration of the intricate relationship between gut microbiota and Biotics in human disease management, alongside comprehensive guidance on diagnosis, therapy, and future directions. This audience seeks in-depth insights, cutting-edge research, and practical applications to advance their understanding and management of human health conditions.
