Collection Overview

Platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) has emerged as a groundbreaking advancement in regenerative medicine. Due to its fibrin matrix composition and growth factor retention, PRF offers unique advantages over traditional platelet concentrates. These biomaterials have gained widespread attention for their versatility, with applications spanning oral and maxillofacial surgery, orthopaedics, wound healing, and dermatology.

Despite their clinical potential, challenges remain in standardizing preparation protocols across studies, adapting methods for specialized applications, and promoting innovations such as injectable PRFs or advanced centrifugation techniques. Researchers also face difficulties in characterizing PRF formulations and tailoring their properties for specific therapeutic needs. These gaps highlight the need for a comprehensive repository of methods and novel research findings to facilitate knowledge exchange and innovation.

This collection aims to provide a robust platform to showcase diverse methodologies and emerging research findings related to PRF preparation, characterization, and application across disciplines. By including protocols ranging from standard practices to cutting-edge innovations, the collection seeks to unify the field and foster reproducibility. Additionally, original research articles demonstrating novel applications or comparative studies are encouraged to enrich the collection.

This collection will serve as a vital resource for clinicians and researchers, promoting collaboration, enhancing the reproducibility of findings, and accelerating advancements in PRF-based therapies. By bridging existing knowledge gaps, the collection will play a transformative role in advancing this promising field of regenerative medicine.
