Collection Overview

To support the transition toward climate-neutral cities, innovative charging infrastructure that integrates renewable energy sources, circular economy principles, advanced materials, and intelligent energy systems is essential. Although considerable technological progress has been achieved, challenges remain in the reproducibility of experimental methods and the standardization of validation procedures.

This Topical Collection invites JoVE video articles describing experimental protocols, laboratory methods, pilot projects, and field validation procedures for charging systems for electric vehicles (EVs) and e-bikes in smart, sustainable urban environments. We particularly encourage contributions that integrate energy systems, second-life batteries, renewable energy sources, circular construction materials, digitalization, the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence, and smart city technologies. Special emphasis will be placed on reproducible experimental methods that facilitate the translation of innovative technologies from research laboratories to industrial and municipal implementation.
