Zheng Gao, PhD, professor, and director of the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, College of Life Sciences, Shandong Agricultural University. He graduated from Shandong Agricultural University with a doctorate in biochemistry and molecular biology, and has conducted visiting scholar research at the University of Hawaii and the University of Oklahoma. Engaged in microbial molecular ecology and microbial resources research, undertook various subjects such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the National Key Research and Development Program. He has published nearly 30 papers in ISME Journal, Microbiome, and Sociology and Biochemistry, Bioresource Technology, etc. He served as a reviewer for Soil Biology and Biochemistry, Water Research, Science of The Total Environment, Environmental Pollution, etc. His recent research mainly focuses on the plant microbiome. With plant diseases (potato common scab) as the main research object, using metagenomics and amplicon sequencing, combined with microbial culturomics, to explore the factors affecting the occurrence of plant diseases. To reveal the interaction between microbiota and plant pathogens, and explore the potential role of key taxa in disease occurrence.
