Elaine C.P. De Martinis is a pharmacist (University of São Paulo - Ribeirão Preto, SP, Brazil), holding a PhD in food science (University of São Paulo - São Paulo, SP, Brazil). She is currently serving as Full Professor in the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences of Ribeirão Preto - University of São Paulo, where she has worked since 1998, with extensive experience in supervising graduate students and postdoctoral researchers and in establishing several international collaborations for research projects. Prof. De Martinis is very active in the area of microbial ecology, mainly related to food safety and health.
