Dr. Yi Ma is currently working on calcium associated signaling transduction at the University of Connecticut. Dr. Ma’s current research interests focus on deciphering calcium-dependent innate immune signaling in plant cells, and the characterization of brassinosteroid induced calcium signaling cascades. Dr. Ma has been working on the family of cyclic nucleotide-gated channels (CNGC) to investigate their roles in plant responses to environmental stimuli as well as endogenous signaling molecules. Dr. Ma has been developing optogenetic sensors for calcium imaging and the detection of cyclic nucleotides in plant cells using confocal fluorescence imaging.
