Matheus Pena Passos is a graduate student in MSc Plant Biology at the University of Campinas (Unicamp), conducting his research with different methods to characterize the development, ultrastructure, reproduction, and symbiotic germination of the mycoheterotrophic orchid Wullschlaegelia aphylla, besides applying molecular techniques to identify the associated fungi. He was awarded two research grants by CNPq (Brazilian Government), researching the anatomy (2019) and fungi colonization (2020) in W. aphylla, before completing a BSc in Biological Sciences (Unicamp, 2021).
