Dr. Arpita Kulkarni is a cell and developmental biologist doing translational research at Harvard.
She received her PhD from the Max Planck Institute for Developmental Biology in Tübingen, Germany. Following her grad studies, she moved to the US for her postdoctoral studies at Harvard, and is currently the Associate Director at the HMS Single Cell Core. Here, she leverages her understanding of cell biology, engineering in medicine, and single cell -omics technologies to aid therapeutics development in clinics. To gain novel insights into biology, her approach has often involved establishing and working with new and unconventional model systems. Beyond the lab, Arpita is also a passionate zoologist and field biologist, deeply committed to exploring and preserving the natural world and its rich biodiversity.
