The focus of Dr. Adam Paré’s lab is to identify fundamental molecular mechanisms that control epithelial cell morphology and behavior during development to achieve proper tissue architecture. They study convergent extension and segmentation in the early Drosophila embryo to determine how cell movements are directed and coordinated to create an elongated and subdivided body plan. Dr. Paré’s lab has significant expertise in a variety of embryology, genetic, molecular, and imaging techniques, including multispectral confocal imaging of live embryos, multispectral immunofluorescence, CRISPR/Cas-9 genome engineering, embryo micro-injections, segmentation of time-lapse imaging datasets, and quantitative analysis of subcellular protein distribution. To date, his work has contributed to 10 peer-reviewed publications, five of which he was first or co-first author on.
