Dr. Carlos Sánchez-Huertas completed his PhD in Developmental Neurobiology from the Institute of Neuroscience of Alicante (CSIC-University Miguel Hernandez), under the direction of Prof. Beatriz Rico. He performed two postdoctoral training periods, first in the laboratory of Dr. Jens Lüders at IRB Barcelona (Spain), where he investigated the mechanisms of microtubule nucleation in the neuronal axons. Later at Dr. Anne Debant’s laboratory at the CRBM Montpellier (CNRS, France), where he investigated the cytoskeletal regulators coordinating the microtubule and actin networks in the neuronal growth cone. After a short training period in Dr. Moreno-Manzano’s laboratory at CIPF (Spain), he got funded by the Severo Ochoa Postdoctoral Programme to join the laboratory of Prof. Eloisa Herrera at the Institute of Neuroscience of Alicante to study the role of cytoskeleton during axon regeneration following injury.
