Dr. Keefe Chan is a Senior Research Officer at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne, Australia. Since 2014, he has led studies interrogating the mechanisms of oncogene-induced senescence (Zhu et al. Mechanisms of Ageing and Development 2020). He has devised methods for high-content microscopic analysis of senescent cells and pioneered a whole genome-RNAi screen for regulators of PI3K/AKT/mTORC1 pathway-driven senescence, employing transcriptomics- and metabolomics-based approaches (Chan et al. Assay and Drug Development Technologies 2016; Chan et al. Cell Death and Differentiation 2020; Zhu et al. bioRxiv 2021). He is a Review Editor for Frontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology and has peer reviewed for journals including Nature Communications, Cell Death and Differentiation, Cancers, Cell Death and Disease, Aging Cell and Scientific Reports. Dr. Chan is currently investigating how to develop strategies for targeting senescent cells to treat cancer.
