Dr. Dana “Nikki” Reinemann is an assistant professor of biomedical engineering and an affiliate assistant professor of chemical engineering at the University of Mississippi. She received her PhD in chemical and biomolecular engineering from Vanderbilt University in 2018 where she studied mitotic backup mechanisms facilitated by kinesins Kif15 and HSET at the single-molecule and ensemble levels. Since 2018, she is the principal investigator of the Molecular Biophysics and Engineering Lab in the School of Engineering at the University of Mississippi. Her research focuses on understanding the molecular basis of motor-motor and motor-filament cytoskeletal ensemble crosstalk using optical tweezers.
