Dr. Kai Xia studied clinical medicine as an undergraduate and then completed his PhD from the Department of Urology, at the First Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University. During his PhD training, he studied the mechanisms behind testosterone deficiency and the stem cell-based therapy that could recover testosterone production. Kai then joined the lab of Prof. Andy Peng Xiang as a postdoctoral researcher at the Key Laboratory for Stem Cells and Tissue Engineering, Ministry of Education, Guangzhou, China. His current research focuses on the development and aging of gonad with the help of mouse transgenic mice, single-cell sequencing, and AAV-mediated gene delivery.
