Dr. Sarah Ferri received her PhD from the University of Pennsylvania, focusing on behavioral neuroendocrinology. She is currently a Postdoctoral Scholar in the Department of Neuroscience and Pharmacology at the University of Iowa. Dr. Ferri uses mouse models to study the neurobiological underpinnings of neurodevelopmental, neurodegenerative, and neuropsychiatric disorders. Specifically, she is interested in sex differences in prevalence, severity, and progression of sex-biased conditions. Determining the mechanisms underlying vulnerability and resilience will facilitate the goal of early detection, effective treatment, and prevention. She uses behavioral, pharmacological, genetic, molecular, cellular, and imaging techniques.
