Malathi Mathiyazhakan received her BTech degree in Industrial Biotechnology from SASTRA University, India. She then graduated with a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore in 2017. Her research focused on developing photo-responsive liposomes with potential applications for controlled drug delivery and bioimaging. Her research expertise covers molecular biology, virology, cell culture, nanomaterial synthesis and characterization, and photoacoustic imaging. At present, as a Project Scientist at the National Institute of Epidemiology (ICMR, Chennai, India), Dr. Malathi is mainly involved in scientific writing and publishing, alongside health research.
