Ilaria Russo earned her PhD in Pharmacology with a major in Molecular Cardiology from the Mario Negri Institute in Milan (Italy). During her PhD program, she became an expert in echocardiography and cardiac MRI in small and large animal models. Dr. Russo moved to the US in 2014 where she’s been studying mechanisms of the fibrotic remodeling in left and right failing heart. She is currently a Senior Postdoctoral Research Scientist in the Division of Cardiology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. Dr. Russo is actively involved in editorial activities and she serves as ad hoc reviewer, editorial board member, and guest editor for several international scientific journals.
