Reem Abdel-Haq received her BS in Biology from Brown University in 2016. She is currently a PhD candidate at Caltech, working in the lab of Dr. Sarkis Mazmanian. Her research investigates how the gut microbiome influences neuroinflammation in a preclinical model of Parkinson’s Disease. More broadly, she is interested in the interaction between diet, gut microbiome composition, and the neural pathways that regulate mood and behavior
