Dr. Sueldo studied Biology at the Universidad Nacional de Mar del Plata (UNMdP, Argentina), and then pursued her PhD at the Department of Phytopathology at Wageningen University (the Netherlands). During her PhD she focused on the immune response of tomato to the fungal pathogen Cladosporium fulvum. After her PhD, she joined the Department of Plant Sciences at Oxford University (United Kingdom) where she studied the role of extracellular enzymes in the execution of the immune response upon bacterial infection. During her second postdoctoral experience at Warwick University (United Kingdom), Daniela investigated the role of chromatin structure in the activation of cell death as part of the immune response in Arabidopsis thaliana. Daniela recently joined the Department of Biology at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology to establish a new group that investigates the molecular mechanisms that control of cell death propagation during the plant immune response.
