Alejandro Osses obtained the professional degree of civil engineer in sound and acoustics in 2010 from the Technological University of Chile INACAP and worked in the area of environmental acoustics for several local consultancy companies (2010-2012). In 2012, he moved to Europe, completing a predoctoral program in biomedical sciences at the University of Leuven (Belgium) on the topic of cochlear-implant signal processing and experimental (psychoacoustical) design. He then obtained a Ph.D. at Eindhoven University of Technology (the Netherlands, 2014-2018) under the supervision of prof. Armin Kohlrausch on the topic of auditory perception using time-domain auditory models. Since October 2018, he has worked as a postdoctoral researcher on the topic of advanced auditory modelling for the simulation of behavioural and objective tasks that are typically used in physiology and psychoacoustics. He was first appointed at Ghent University (Belgium, 2018-2020) to the group of Prof. Sarah Verhulst and he now works at École Normale Supérieure (ENS), PSL University (Paris, France, 2021-current) together with Léo Varnet and Prof. Christian Lorenzi. Since 2020 he has also been an active collaborator on the Auditory Modelling Toolbox project lead by Piotr Majdak (Austrian Academy of Sciences).
