Dr Yobas currently serves as an Associate Professor at the Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering and Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He received his BSc degree in electrical engineering from Hacettepe University, Turkey, MSc, and PhD degrees both in biomedical engineering from Case Western Reserve University, USA. His research is mainly focused on micro/nanofabrication technologies for life sciences, particularly lab-on-a-chip microfluidics for drug discovery and point-of-care diagnostic applications. He has published in the areas of nucleic acid analysis, patch clamp electrophysiology, droplet-based digital microfluidics, organoid generation, and point-of-care diagnostics.
