Dr. Tummala is a Research Specialist at the University of Pennsylvania. She pursued her PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology; her doctoral research was focused on retinal haemodynamics. Subsequently, she completed her postdoctoral work in basic neuroscience and traumatic brain injury at the University of Pennsylvania. Her research focuses on understanding neuronal signalling from the molecular to systems level in health and disease. She is interested in understanding the structural and functional coordination of the neurovascular unit in health and disease.
