Dr. Laura C Zanetti-Domingues (zie/zir pronouns) has fallen in love with advanced microscopy techniques and with the study of structure-function relationships in signalling regulation in 2010.
Zie has obtained zir PhD from King’s College London in 2014 and now works as a Senior Staff Scientist at the Lasers for Science advanced microscopy facility at Harwell Campus. In this role, zie empowers members of the UK and international academic community to make use of advanced light and electron microscopy techniques to answer their scientific questions through the establishment of collaborative projects for peer-reviewed facility access campaigns.
Zir principal fields of expertise are TIRF-based single-particle tracking, cryo-super-resolution, cryo-volume imaging in FIB-SEM and cryo-CLEM. Zir principal research interests are the structure-function relationships underpinning EGFR signalling regulation and signalling outcomes, and the biogenesis of extracellular vesicles.
