Domenico Mattoscio is Assistant Professor at the Department of Medical, Oral, and Biotechnological Science and at the Center for Advanced Studies and Technology, University of Chieti, Italy. Dr. Mattoscio received an MSc degree in Biology from the University of Molise, Italy, and then the PhD from the University of Chieti where he characterized the contribution of platelets to sustain chronic inflammation and failure in resolution in cystic fibrosis. He then moved to the European Institute of Oncology, Italy, where he dissected cellular pathways involved in viral-mediated tumorigenesis. After completion of his post-doctoral training, he moved back to the University of Chieti where his primary research interest is focused on the understanding of how the restoration of pro-resolution circuits is beneficial in chronic inflammatory disorders such as cystic fibrosis and cancer. The lab uses mouse models of disease coupled with multi-color flow cytometry, cell sorting, multiplex ELISA and RNA sequencing to detail the inflammatory response as a whole.
