Dr. Ayla Arslan was born in Istanbul and studied at the Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey and graduated with a MS degree in Biotechnology (2001). In 2002, she was awarded the scholarship of "Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG)"  in order to pursue her doctorate in the field of neuroscience/molecular neurobiology at Heidelberg University, Germany.  Following this she was appointed in different research and academic positions across the globe. Dr. Ayla Arslan  is currently an Associate Professor at the School of Advanced Studies at Tyumen State University, Russia. Her research interests include molecular neuroscience, neurobiology of free will, research methods in psychiatry and science & society.
