Dr. Xin Yang received his PhD in neuroscience from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology after finishing his Bachelor's degree in Nankai University. Dr. Yang is a molecular neuroscientist long dedicated to cognitive biology and is specialized in transgenic mouse models. Dr. Yang has contributed to the engineering and applications of bio-digestive hydrogels as alternative therapeutics to traumatic CNS injuries. Besides, Dr. Yang has focused on the disease mechanisms of Angelman Syndrome (AS) and uncovered that G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) signaling could be targeted as a new treatment. During his work in the pharmaceutical industry, he led a research team to develop peptide-derived small molecules for next-generation brain vascular drugs. To continue his passion for brain disorders, Dr. Yang joined the Huang laboratory at Brown University for a shared vision of innovations in research.
