Vladimir Despic is currently a senior postdoctoral scientist at Well Cornell Medical College in New York City, studying the regulatory roles of RNA modifications in gene expression. He obtained his PhD degree in biology from TU Dresden (Germany). He conducted his PhD work at the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics and Yale University in the group of Dr. Karla M. Neugebauer. The primary focus of his thesis was to characterize the dynamic activities of RNA-binding proteins during the maternal-to-zygotic transition in zebrafish.
