Dr. Abhishek Dey holds a PhD (2014) in structural biology from JNU, New Delhi, and CSIR-CDRI, Lucknow, India. He is currently a postdoctoral fellow at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Prior to joining this current position, Dr. Dey was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte and Carnegie Mellon University-Pittsburgh. Dr. Dey’s research interest predominantly lies in understanding the structural blueprints, analyzing biomolecular interactions of different macromolecules, and elucidating the intricate pathways they are involved in which might dictate and regulate various cellular processes and genetic variability in different organisms and disease states. Currently, Dr. Dey’s research is focused on exploring the structural complexity of RNA molecules in controlling post-transcriptional regulatory mechanisms and interpreting structure as a secondary layer of information from various pathological conditions.
