Before this position, she was a postdoctoral research fellow in the same lab. Her current research focuses on the impact of protein homeostasis and long-lived proteins on mitochondrial metabolism during aging. Dr. Shefali Krishna earned her PhD in Cancer Biology and Biomedical Sciences from Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. She worked on the role of lysosomal protein homeostasis and amino acid export on cancer cell metabolism. Her primary research interest lies in understanding how protein turnover can be used as a metabolic adaptation in health and disease.
