Zhifei Yan obtained his PhD in Chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania in 2021. At UPenn, he worked on renewable energy storage under the guidance of Professor Thomas E. Mallouk. His doctoral work specifically focuses on mass transport management in complex electrochemical systems, including water/CO2 electrolyzers, alkaline fuel cells, and acid-base redox flow batteries. Zhifei is currently a postdoctoral researcher in the lab of Professor Daniel G. Nocera at Harvard University. His research in the Nocera group explores charge transfer kinetics and transport phenomena involved in the electrochemical anodic oxidation processes.
