Research in Dr. Xingyun Qi’s laboratory is focused on the mechanism of environmental regulation of stomatal development in the model plant Arabidopsis thaliana, with particular emphasis on osmotic stress. Dr. Xingyun Qi joined the Biology Department of Rutgers-the State University of New Jersey at Camden campus as an Assistant Professor in 2019. Before moving to New Jersey, she completed her doctoral studies with Dr. Hugo Zheng at McGill University in Canada in 2012, working on the membrane trafficking system in plant cells. She then carried out her postdoctoral research with Dr. Keiko Torii at the University of Washington in Seattle, studying the signaling pathway regulating stomatal development until 2019.
