Dr. Liu is an early career researcher focusing on arthropod borne viruses and respiratory viruses. He obtained his PhD in October 2016 at the Institute for Glycomics, Griffith University. He is currently working as a research fellow at the Menzies Health Institute Queensland (MHIQ). His research has focused on gaining a comprehensive understanding of the relationship between virus infection and the host immune response and the repercussions on human viral disease pathology. Drawing on a large body of research work over the past 10 years, his study provides an in depth understanding of the interplay between the type I interferon system and alphavirus disease pathogenesis.
