Vida Jamali has been an Assistant Professor in the School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology since August 2022. She received her PhD in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from Rice University under the guidance of Prof. Matteo Pasquali and her B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the Sharif University of Technology. She was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of California Berkeley and Kavli Energy Nanoscience Institute, working with Prof. A. Paul Alivisatos before joining Georgia Tech. Her research group at Georgia Tech uses experimental, theoretical, and computational tools such as liquid phase transmission electron microscopy, rheology, statistical and colloidal thermodynamics, and machine learning to study the underlying physical principles that govern the dynamics, statistics, mechanics, and self-organization of nanostructured soft materials, in and out of thermal equilibrium, from both fundamental and technological aspects.
