Dr. Deborah Page – Dumroese is a Senior research soil scientist with the Rocky Mountain Research Station and has studied the impacts of harvest operations on soil processes and long-term soil productivity. She has worked to reduce slash pile burning for the past decade by finding uses for low-value woody biomass. In particular, she has installed a dozen forest and range field studies that examine the impacts and benefits of adding biochar to the soil. She has extensively published about woody biomass, biochar, and soil health.
