Dr. Makoto Hagiwara is an assistant professor at the University of Niigata Prefecture, Japan. He graduated with PhD from the Tokyo University of Agriculture and conducted his research as a postdoctoral fellow at the National Center for Geriatrics and Gerontology. During his postdoctoral fellowship, he was selected for JSPS Research Fellowship for Young Scientists. Hagiwara’s research currently focuses on the following: 1. The mechanisms of membrane traffic 2. Protein-protein interaction in the cells 3. Post-translational protein modification 4. Bacterial infection to cells 5. Anti-inflammatory action 6. Nutrient action mechanism
