Gina Abdelaal is a PhD student at Northumbria University supervised by Dr. Stephany Veuger. Her research project involves screening a panel of cell lines for their sensitivity to in-house synthesized novel iron chelator SK4 and determining the mechanism behind SK4 action. She is experienced in cell culture methodology. She has grown and screened ten different cell lines during her PhD and optimized various laboratory techniques related to the hallmarks of cancer (cell viability assays, flow cytometry, Western blotting, PCR, immunofluorescence, and proteomics). 

She is also a peer reviewer for STAR protocols and evaluates new methods papers for their clarity, content, and ease of reproducibility.
