Dr. Yihang Li is an assistant professor in the Department of Animal and Food Sciences and Biological Sciences at the University of Delaware. Dr. Li earned his PhD at North Carolina State University, where he studied early life mineral nutrition and bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell biology. He then received postdoctoral training at Michigan State University, focusing on intestinal mucosal mast cell physiology and epithelial nutrient transporter functions. Dr. Li’s current research focuses on understanding how early life nutritional and physiological events program intestinal epithelial stem cells, enteroendocrine cell development, and functions by utilizing intestinal organoids culture and chamber electrophysiological techniques in pigs and chicken models.
