Dr. Roland Akhigbe is a clinician and a faculty member at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology. His interest is in Reproductive Toxicology and Ischemia/Reperfusion. Focusing on Ischemia/Reperfusion, his team has worked on various pathological problems, including contributions to our understanding of the pathogenesis of Ischemia/Reperfusion injury of the testis, ovaries, and intestine. He has also examined the modulation of Ischemia/Reperfusion-associated pathways through medical and surgical interventions. Dr. Roland heads the Reproductive Biology and Toxicology Research Laboratory, an arm of Oasis of Grace Hospital, Osogbo, Nigeria. He is a member of the Nigerian Medical Association, Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria, Physiological Society of Nigeria, and American Society of Andrology.
