Dr. Miyashiro earned his medical degree from the University of São Paulo in 2007 and went on to complete his medical residency and fellowships in General Surgery, Digestive Surgery, and Transplant Surgery at Hospital das Clínicas, University of São Paulo Medical School (SP/Brazil). Following the completion of his medical training, Dr. Miyashiro pursued research at IUPUI (IN, USA) with a focus on novel models for creating transgenic animals for xenotransplantation, culminating in the defense of his PhD at the University of São Paulo (SP/Brazil).

With an unwavering passion for transplant surgery, Dr. Miyashiro went on to complete a Transplant Surgery Fellowship at IUPUI in 2018, where he further honed his expertise in the field. Currently, he is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Miami (FL, USA) at the Miami Transplant Institute, where he continues to advance his clinical practice in liver and multi visceral transplantation and his research in xenotransplantation.
