Dr. Dengyun Ge is an assistant research fellow at Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is interested in how the brain coordinates whole body function and adapts to constantly changing environments. His research primarily focuses on how specific neural circuits are involved in regulating certain behaviors. Upon joining Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, he built an in vivo electrophysiological recording platform that enables simultaneous recordings of neural activities in multiple brain areas of free moving rodents (rats and mice). More specifically, his research interest is in neural correlates of natural sleep and general anesthesia in cortical neural circuits. He also studies the effects of ginseng polysaccharides in alleviating anxiety-like behaviors by targeting the brain-gut axis.
