Dr. Jiyoon Bu is an assistant professor in the Department of Biological Engineering at INHA University. His research focuses on the interface of biology, microfluidics, and nanotechnology, aimed at developing novel polymeric nanodevices for biological analysis, diagnostics, and therapeutics. Specifically, his interest lies in comprehending and controlling the biological interactions of polymers with cells at the nanoscale. This fundamental understanding will propel us into translational cancer research fields, encompassing multifunctional liquid biopsy systems for effectively detecting circulating tumor biomarkers and novel drug delivery systems for improved targeting efficacy. Until now, Dr. Bu has authored around 35 peer-reviewed papers in high-profile journals, including Nano Letters, Biomaterials, Advanced Science, Biosensors & Bioelectronics, the Journal of the American Chemical Society, and Advanced Materials. Furthermore, he is listed as a co-inventor on eight filed/pending patents while delivering approximately 100 invited talks and conference presentations. Dr. Bu has also served as an editorial board member or guest editor for various journals, including Oncology Research, Micromachines, and Cancers.
