Dr. V. Schwach is an assistant professor in the Department of Applied Stem Cell Technologies at the Faculty of Science and Technology, TechMed Centre, University of Twente. Her research focuses on differentiating human pluripotent stem cells (hPSCs) for application in tissue engineering and organ-on-chip technology for studying cardiac development, disease modeling, and cardiotoxicity screening. Verena received her PhD from the Department of Anatomy and Embryology at the Leiden University Medical Center in the Netherlands, where she was working on subtype-specific cardiac differentiation of hPSCs and cardiac repair.
